Kielle ‘Lucky’ Rutland
I was born in NZ and have lived in London for 24 years. I Studied BTEC Ceramics and Sculpture in clay. I love to sculpt Nudes and Animals and magical creatures. I also paint and draw from life models. I am making cards from my nude inks. I get my inspiration from nature and the human form. Art Nouveau is one of my favorite eras, all the curves and spirals which come from nature.
Children inspire me,that’s why I love teaching so much. I have been teaching children art in all different media from clay to Paper Mache, and drawing now for 12 years, and I have taught adults drawing, painting, ceramics and sculpture for the last 7 years. I am with five different artist groups so I have been busy this last year with exhibitions all over London (Lauderdale House, Islington Art Factory etc).
I do commissions. I have done a sculpture for a grave and just finished a large painting commission of a Buddha’s face. My sculptures can be out-door or indoor and I love a challenge. I was a resident artist for over a year at St Aidan’s School and while I was there the children and I painted a bank mural in the school playground. I have just finished a commission for Alexandra School making clay tiles for the playground. I love what I do and feel very fortunate ,I hope you enjoy my work.
