|Tracey Lord is an experienced knitwear designer and teacher who divides her time between writing knit and crochet design books, offering private tuition and creating her two ranges of knitted accessories for women. men, children and the home.
Her label Cheese at Fourpence is devoted to her colourful cotton children’s knits and accessories. These have evolved over almost two decades and have been sold to customers all over the world, from her website and previous retails bases in Camden and Portobello. Her Lord and Taft label is home to her more grown-up pieces created from soft materials including alpaca and silk. These include gloves, socks, knitted ties, scarves, berets and some pieces for the home, including cushions and throws made to order. Both ranges are available from selected shops in London and on her website, and she will have pieces from both ranges for sale at Open Studios.
Tracey is happy to take commissions and loves to create individual bespoke pieces. Her books “A Square a Day” (Ivy Press, 2014) and “Knitting Basics” (CICO Books, 2015) are widely available and she will have some copies of the latter for sale at Open Studios.
